When it is cold or very damp outside I have an issue with condensation on the windows. I changed out the heater core and cross over pipe a year or so back but it didn't solve the whole problem. Defrost will eventually clear it but before heater core change it would sometimes make it worse. Can't feel any dampness in the carpet and the condensation on glass seems centered. Any suggestions on what to check are welcome.
I'm putting it in the shop to replace upper oil pan gasket and replace the nose piece that some &/*%# backed into and may as well fix all I can when it is off the road. I will apply for collector plates before insuring again.
The first question would be 'does the A/C work?' - it is the A/C system that actually clears condensation by drying the air - if it doesn't actually cool, the initial airflow will be as wet as the air slurped in.....

I didn’t realize the a/c came on on defrost on these cars. Yes a/c works and I sometimes turn it on to see if it would help clear.
My 8 has the a/c drain clogged and it’ll fog up badly occasionally. Check for anything blocking the a/c drain above transmission?
Yes, that's a good point, I've had a blocked one ages ago - they can be accessed by removing the small carpeted piece each side of the centre console as seen below:
The black rubber piece that can be seen where my thumb is pointing can be manipulated so that strimmer cord can be poked down it to clear any obstruction. Worked for me - but, that was in response to having water running down rather than misting....

I’ll try that. I was just reading about your auxiliary pump rebuild. Would that leak to where it could mist up?
No, that's in the engine bay well away from the cabin.....

May have solved where the water comes from. I finally got it into the garage and started with a couple of jobs that are easiest before putting it on the lift. Started by running a weed wacker cord down the AC drain. It seemed clear for almost a foot then it stopped. Can't see cord sticking out but I think it is jammed against something under the car. Check more when its in the air.
Last year I had pulled the fuse for the sunroof, as it was acting weird after changing the batteries (reset didn't help) and so I moved onto it. My son had said it wasn't properly closed anyway but I thought he must be crazy, it looked good to me. It wasn't! It jammed when I tried to open it. When I got it open enough to take apart, there was lots of moisture trapped between the inner and outer panels. The car had sat in a heated garage with the windows open for 5 or 6 days so some of it should have evaporated. No sign of leaks on the headliner (whew, as that was not cheap) and no dampness anywhere else I could find. If I can get the sunroof working properly (nothing seems broken) it may be enough to stop the condensation inside. I'll let it dry until I get it back off the lift. The 2 post hoist makes working near the doors a pain.
