    2014 335i high rpm hesitation.

    What’s up guys,

Hoping someone could help me identify an issue I am having.

Car is a 2014 N55 with VRSF intercooler, charge pipe, and catless downpipe. Tuned on MHD stage 2+ on 93 octane. Car has been running perfectly fine until today. All of a sudden while at WOT from about 5200rpm-5800rpm the car hesitates. Before and after that rpm it’s fine. Logs show a lot of timing corrections mainly in cylinder 4 in that rpm range which would lead me to believe it was a bad spark plug or coil pack. However, I have brand new spark plugs and coil packs. Not even a 1000 miles on them. Also, my fuel rail pressure in that rpm range dips extremely low. Normally it’s around 2400-2800 in that rpm range. Today it’s from 1800 to as low at 1000 in that rpm range.

From the research I’ve done it could be anything from a bad HPFP or LPFP or bad injectors or a clogged fuel filter but I haven’t seen anything concrete.

I woud rather not have to throw money in different parts. Can anyone guide me to what they believe the issue could be?

    appreciate any help!

I'd lean towards a problem with the HPFP given it's known to be a problem area and more importantly you're seeing a pressure drop in your readings.

Appreciate the response. Do you know of any other symptoms I would be seeing with a bad HPFP aside from the hesitation I’m getting in that rpm range?

I'm currently having the exact same problem. I also have the same exact mods as you. Did you ever find the fix?
