    Seeking New Engine/528i

    Hello everyone:

First off, I would like to introduce myself as new member to the forum as well as saying hello to everyone.

As of recently, I was able to score 2014 BMW 528i from Copart.com without an engine. In essence, what I bought, was a rolling shell with the transmission still intact.

To be frank, this would be my first project Bimmer, whereas at this point, I am attempting to source a new engine.

To my dismay, I had not realized how frustrating it would to find said engine, given that I thought a simple internet search would be enough. Sadly, I was wrong. For the past week, I've tried every configuration within the search engines from, "Long block, Crate Engine, OEM Direct" etc. The only thing that has turned up with consistency are used engines.

To be clear, I am only interested in buying a New engine, that's ready to be dropped in. And that would include no rebuilds, no low mile salvage or remanufactured engines.

I understand what it may potentially cost; but at the same, I bought the entire car for a song.

So the question is, where can I find a new engine for my 2014 528i ?

    Thank You

Not sure why a now 5 yr old car demands a brand new engine but since you insist, a BMW dealer might be a good place to start.
Don't be surprised when the price of a fresh motor from Bavaria costs more than this car is worth.
Should you lower your standards you'll save many thousands. Not sure of your location in WI but there is a fellow near Twin Lakes that has a pretty good sized operation parting out BMWs. Check Craigslist, he advertises there(and is slow to respond)

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

BMW usually doesn't even offer "new" engines, only reman.

But yes, you need to go to a dealership to get the closest thing to a "new" engine.
