    Help selecting proper head gasket

I am building an m50nv turbo set up. Bored to 84.5mm, decked .006, and mated to a cylinder head that has been resurfaced. I have wiesco 8.8:1 pistons and stock length eagle h beam rods, along with ARP headstuds. Wanting to run a gt35r at about 15-18 psi daily.
I believe that I want a cut ring head gasket but don't know what thickness to get. Any suggestions on brand or thickness would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Reed

Since you have low CR pistons buy a standard thickness HG.

I'm leaning toward a CES HIGH BOOST CUT RING HEADGASKET. Any other recommendations?

For pump gas get the 84.5MM cutring and lower your compression with the copper spacer option - for e85 do not get a spacer

Get stock thickness and 85mm bore.

JE or Athena are your cutring options.

I thought with the lower compression that I shouldn't run e85?

You don’t need the spacer because you already have low compression pistons. I think the person in post #4 missed that. E85 works fine with low compression but you should be fine with 93 octane.

The OP has wiseco 8.8 CR pistons. He does not need a thicker HG or spacer.

^correct. Just run the CES cutring w/o spacer. Stay away from MLS head gasket. I'm not too familiar with e85 but I always thought it was more advantageous to keep stock compression...You already have low comp pistons so I don't think e85 is the best route for you.

E85 will work fine with low compression, there just isn't really a need for it until your going for 20+ psi of boost.

93 was my plan. As far as gasket dimensions go, both 84.5mm and 85.0mm have been suggested. I assumed I would want to match the head gasket to the engines bore. Any reason you suggested 85.0 Someguy?

I have an 84.5mm one on my 84mm bore motor and there is absolutely no room for error to get the rings centered on the bore when you put the head on. If a ring shifts slightly when you set the head on you'll have a ring overhanging the bore. For this reason if I ever buy another one I will always get one at least 1 mm over bore diameter to give myself some margin for error. There will be no detrimental effect from getting one a little bigger than bore diameter.
