Unhappy Oil change procedure after guides replacement

Here's a question I have not seen addressed:

Finishing chain guides on 2000 540 and have heard that it's a good idea to run the car for a short period of time then change the oil and filter again. This sounds reasonable as there are surely bits and shavings that are still floating around even after douching accessible areas. Thoughts on this? How long would you run the car before changing the oil/filter again? Would a lower viscosity oil do a better job of carrying particles to the filter? Any advice (and prayers) are appreciated.

    Thanks

WRONG PLACE. Not really a "Touring" question. Should be in the main forum. Get a mod to move it. That's why nobody replying.
