    Welcomed F80 to the family

I own 97 328i vert with a Stage 2 Active Autowerks supercharger. It took me a couple of years to iron and upgrade everything from brakes to suspension and the car drives like a dream. Still, I couldn’t call it a family car since my daughter arrived here in June. So I pulled a trigger on a beautiful 2017 ZCP 6spd with most options and cloth seats. I found it at Mazda dealership in IOWA with 10k miles it was mispriced like crazy. Fearing that the next version of M3 might not come in manual version I justified the purchase. I considered M2 CS but that wouldn’t check family car box. After a few weeks of testing different settings, it’s the ultimate 4 door sedan a man could want. Or a woman. The whole package is amazing. Every sensory desire is satisfied with this car Except the shifter. It’s too light and rubbery. But the clutch action is great. Still when I get back into my E36 I love the mechanical feel of gates. Heavy mechanical steering is also awesome on E36 vs F80. The supercharger comes awake after 3k RPM where as F80 is an animal from start to end and the response is instantaneous. ZCP seats are worthy of highest accolades tho I do get slightly sore lower back after long drives without lumbar support. The car doesn’t feel bloated like some reviews say. I still drive E36 to work on some days and love it’s mechanical feel to run around town. But M3 is my new found love, particularly the completion package.

    Congrats!

I just went the other way and added a 98 M3 to the garage with a 16’ M3.

Needed something I could wrench on since my F80 is pretty much tapped out.

Check out the f80 Bimmerpost forums as they are definitely more active.

I miss my E36 M3... but for daily usage and fitting my life into now, nothing beats the F80 M3.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

Can’t argue there... was looking at GTRs but couldn’t get over the interior quality.

Next up is a P-Car... unless the G80 M3 blows my socks off
