As the title states I have a problem with the voltage that is being put out from the alternator to the battery. I already replaced both battery and alternator with new ones so now I believe I am stuck with cheching the wiring that goes from the alternator to the battery.
Alternator does charge the battery but too slow to keep it fully charged. After about 2 hours of driving I my voltage output droped from above 14 to 11.9 at about 65mph.
I could not find the exact locations of grounds and cables that would be important for me to check. If someone has pictures I would appreciate it!
Unbolt, clean, and retighten the following:
Both battery terminals.
The OTHER end of the negative battery cable.
The B+ (jump start) terminal underhood.
The main hot bolt of the starter motor. It should have TWO big cables tightened under that one nut.
The big wire at the alternator.
The main engine ground cable at the passenger engine mount -- both ends.
