Hi everyone , I have a hard time identifying ECU that came with m30 swap. It looks different than others ECU's I have seen from outside and inside too. The problem is that I did the m30b35 ( from e34 1.3 motronic) swap into my 1987 318 and i have no spark... I've been checking every possible thing in a car with no luck, so I'm thinking maybe ECU is not right for my engine? I hope someone can help me because it's starting to drive me nuts :

I'm also just new to this forum but I do have a lot of experience with swaps m20/30/50/52/54.
Just a quick google of the BOSCH 0 265 ... number led me to one of the first ABS/ASC modules for an e34.
Did you connect this ecu to the engine??
M30 engines are always smaller and have a light blue, red, or grey labeled motronic DME.
This ABS modules seems to have the same pinout and plug, but it is only there to communicate with the ABS pump...
You need a DME that at least starts with 0 261 200 xxx and then motronic 1.1 or 1.3.
Only those 2 work with cilinder recognition on cilinder 6 and a crank angle sensor on the vibration damper on the front of the engine.
