Anyone know a place I can get a leather replacement cover for my maroon and black z3 seats? Or has any one tried a leather repair kit? I can find some but they are like 700 dollars. I think I could get one made by an auto upholsterer for less.
Or maybe does it make sense to just buy some new seats. I have seen some on EBay that look ok. But I don's see how the seat belts would fit / work with them. Thanks!
I will say that leather repair kits do not work. Maybe a highly skilled technician could succeed at it, but not the average guy. You could try these guys, or equivalent closer to you. I know nothing about them except that they advertise regularly on Phoenix CL: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/p...713843427.html

There is a guy that sells replacement Z3 seat covers on bimmerforums.
Generally need an upholstery shop to install these, but a really handy guy could do it.

Another thought. While replacing covers, you can add some foam in the right places to make the seats feel more secure when cornering. You can see in this pic that I added some foam on the sides of the bottom and the seatback and also a pad for lumbar support. It just takes a little more muscle to get the covers on if you add foam.IMG_0104.JPG
How badly ripped? I've repaired seats with some pretty bad tears in.
If you want the best...
