What should I try and trade my vehicle in for?

Hey, I'm considering trading my vehicle in for maybe a Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, or so (~$13-15k).

Anyhow, short of going through the hassle of selling it on Craigslist........ any thoughts on what I should trade the car in for?

You may as well keep it. The trade-in value will shock you. I can't see a dealer offering any more than $500, if even that. At least on Craigslist, you will eventually find a buyer offering 4-5 times that.

Honestly, if I could get 2k I'd be happy.

car gurus .com says between 2-4K. Knock 1K off that for trade in. But if the car is running well you'd be better off selling it yourself in Ames, IA. It's AWD and winter is coming. You won't be happy with a Fusion or Camry, but who knows?
Buy or lease a new 235xi. Sell this one.

If you're going to buy a NEW car, a dealer may be able to get that number down on paper as a trade-in value but when trading in used for used, you lose. As another post said, winter is approaching and a buyer may be on your horizon. I'd wait it out.
