Stability control light on??

Hey gang--01 525-I wagon driving along great then the stability control/traction warning light pops on--the triangle circled with arrow sign--what do I check? Ideas before I take it in? Thanks

A scanner is your only solution while everything else will be "check wiring for breakage and cracking insulation" process. The speed sensors can get old, weak causing poor readings, they get clogged with dirt from those who like to go "off roading" due to poor driving skills.
Access to a scanner will provide codes, location of error, and will confirm your repair. Everything else will be a "try this then try that" approach.

If you want to drive up to VA, I have four speed sensors you can play with to determine which wheel is your issue.

Try checking the brake fluid. Low fluid will turn on the light before the brake warning light comes on in my 99 540 wagon. Master cylinder is under the driver side cabin air filter box.
