Rear suspension and subframe for 540 VS 528

Are the rear suspension components the same for all e39 cars?
Mostly the rear subframe as my 97 540 subframe is messed up and junkyard has a 98 528

I asked this some time back. The answer I got from various forums and Facebook is that they have different part numbers but are dimensionally the same. Some of the bolt holes might be a size smaller on the I6 subframe.
