Shift Indicator plate/control unit

So after 3 weeks at BMW Bayside Service and replacing my shifter, I am told I need a shift indicator plate/control unit. Additionally I am told that this part is discontinued.

So I am asking my friends on this forum for help on how I can locate this part, assume I need a used part and hope it is OK.

The initial problem started when the sport mode did not engage, then a week later in drive mode the car would shift between sport mode and drive. Sent it to my mechanic and recommended I bring to BMW service to diagnose the problem, so here I am any help would be welcome.

Here is what I did, my friend in Bahrain broke his one. I looked everywhere and nothing was available. I decided to take a risk and order this one although RealOEM doesn't list it for EU models but only US models.

Had my 84YO Machinist Dad build me one out of Aluminum to hide the hole. No Shift indicator though.
