    Camshaft to sprocket attachment N62

Hi I'm a bit new to the N62 engine and on reassembly I notice that there doesn't seem to be any locating dowel or pin and that the sprocket of the Vanos holds tight to the cam just by the tension of the central bolt.
I know that the crank always drives the cams even on over run so there would not be a tendency for the bolt to work lose but not having a positive locating system seems a bit like playing with fire.
    Is this correct?

Correct. There is no locking pin, and the gear can be installed in any position. It is only held in place by the torque of the bolt, which is always replaced with a new one if it is broken loose.
