Hello all,
I am currently in the middle of doing the oil filter housing gasket on my 2003 530i manual. I would like to know if the temperature sensor # 13 and the oil pressure switch # 12 have any gaskets or crush washers? I have looked at real oem and did not see anything. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_7537 I would like to remove them so I can properly clean the oil filter housing since it is out of the car. Thanks.

Why not remove them and see? I'm sure there are aluminum or copper washers used.

The sensor(s) come with washer.
I posted photos in the thread below.

Thanks alot CNN, I should have bought the new sensors as they do not cost to much. I am debating whether to buy the parts and wait, clean the OFH without removing them, or re-use crush washer (last resort)
You can buy different sizes copper and aluminum crush washers at most any autoparts store. They are cheap, good to have some spares on hand.
Match the specs correctly. Some are tin coated copper, and some are soft aluminum, depending on the metals they seal against.
But those washers are pretty much captive -- it will be difficult to change them. They usually re-seal with no problem if you follow the torque spec.
