Square setup with 18x8.5" (245 or 255) and no rubbing ?

It looks like a setup with 18x8" was available for the 340i (xdrive). Our current setup (with M Package and Track Package) is the staggered 18x8 + 18x8.5 with Pilot Super sports.

The PSS are not going to be any good in a Chicago winter so getting a 2nd set with Conti DWS all seasons. The BMW specs would suggest 18x8 with the 225/45 size. But wondered if I can go larger around (245 or 255) without rubbing issues ?

I’m running 245/40r18 Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s on 18x8et29 wheels all-around as my winter set-up on my 2016 F36. I have the THP w/M Brakes - hard to find 18x8/8.5 wheels that fit. Love the fitment and tires, no issues. BMW recommends 225/45r18 tires, but I couldn’t locate the Pilot Aplins in that size (the 245/40s have same diameter).
