    garagistic poly black friday sales

    Garagistic has poly or delrin diff bushings for $15, control arm bushings for $30, and subframe bushings for $80. For some reason the diff bushings don't pull up under the e21 parts segment, but will pull up under the specials link.

    Just a heads up, I have no affiliation with them but I did buy poly and delrin control arm bushings, poly and delrin diff bushings, and delrin subframe bushings.

    Damn, this is a good deal. Tons of other stuff is on sale as well. What sorta improvements did you see from the subframe bushings? Im cautiously optimistic. I havent put poly in my car yet but I hear it can make it pretty damn stiff. However these are the only option you have to change out the subframe bushings from what I searched last year.

    I haven't run any of the e21 stuff yet, but the e30 stuff I have works just fine.

    I got delrin for the subframe since my car is full race, but I think quite a few forum members have run poly from Eurometric and seemed happy with the results. I think they have a couple different hardness poly available so you can get a softer shore rating for the street.

    I think Jesse (Eurometric) does subframe bushes on an exchange basis? Been a while since I looked though. Once you get ahold of him his customer service is fabulous, it just can take some time because he's just one dude doing a quality side business

    Jesse still has subframe bushings and you dont need a core anylonger.

    but I was speaking that you really can ONLY go for poly.

    For the M42 folks, the dual shear selector rod is 25% off. Im hoping to tighten up my shifter some and get it tight like a bolt action rifle.

    Yea its shortened but its an easy job and I can shorten it again. Plus they have a 147mm that I think is closer to the size I need. Going to confirm tonight and pick it up.

    How much did you end up shortening the aluminum arm? I've ready between 3/4" - 1 1/4" depending on placement.

    I shortened it a bit less than 1.25". I think right at an inch. Im going to get the full length tonight for my records. Wish I recorded that the first time.

    Not to derail my own thread, but do you think fitting the DISA intake from the e36 was possible? I'm contemplating an intake swap to see if it's any better but can't seem to find out what it would take to run it with OBD1 stuff.

    I thought it was-- a bit frustrating since I planned for it. But once I installed the modified subframe the DISA intake was right on the brake booster. I didnt wanna fuss with moving around the engine for an intake so it came out.

    You will need the E36 fuel rail since the injectors are quite a bit thicker. The holes for the injectors are much narrower on the E30. Otherwise, from what I recall, it should all be plug and play.

    Do you recall if a slightly smaller booster would have cleared? I really don't want to move the engine forward any, as I think a huge bonus to the m42 swap is getting weight further back than the m10 had stock.

    Right, My M42 is pretty much all the way back. Smaller booster sure but to what benefit really? Ive never driven an E36 M42 so I dont know... but I feel like the M42 is peppy enough as-is from the E30.

    edit: Also what I read is its 5% more in low-end torque. Its an early form of DISA so its not that robust.

    Gonna go for the 237.5 mm DSSR. $65 and all the hardware. I believe it may be an 1/8" too long so I may have to shave some off. May work otherwise

    Just wanted to confirm that the 237.5mm DSSR works great. My selector rod was already bent and needed replacement. If you have an M42 swap and your selector rod is 9 1/4", this will be a taaaad bit longer (less than 1/8") but it works. All gears go in just fine. It makes for a much more firm and rigid shift pattern as well
