Fuel consumption readings way off for TS?

I noticed I am guzzling gas in the new supercharged M3. Even in normal dirivnig conditions I am getting really poor gas mileage. I need to get some more exact numbers, but I was just curios so I hit the OBD consumption numbers and range to see where I was at and got reading of like 83 and 99 mpg.... and a range of over 200 miles on less than a quarter tank.

Is that a normal error for TS supercharged e36's or is there something fishy at play here that I need to investigate/

Your OBC was not recoded for the bigger injectors. Calculate using the odometer and fill up gallons. When you make more power you use more fuel. I would expect mpg to go down.

That, and it's just so hard to keep your foot out of it. Combined mileage, I'm probably in the 16-18 mpg range, but these trips are rarely more than 10 or 20 miles. I'd fully expect to get 20-22 mpg rolling down the Interstate at a sedate (and constant) 70 mph.

I did notice the last time I drove my Coupe I was actually being quite civilized, fortunately I realized it with just enough time and space to make a few pulls before getting home...

With the open source openOBC you can adjust the constant to adjust for changing the injector size and tune so that the mpg reads correct.
