HI Guys,
I am gathering the parts to do the 6 speed swap into my new to me e38.
On the issue of the bent selector rod and the shifting arm,

Items 2,4
Did any of you try to source the parts from Germany through ebay?
I found 2 auctions that have the parts listed with the correct part number for the Europe e38 740i with manual transmission,

Is there any downside to going this route, rather than trying to extend a 540 linkage?
Thanks
Tony

It's your money. I weld the selector rod myself and give a guy a few bucks to do the aluminum.

Did you extend the UUC double shear rod on Rave34's car?
I am interested in a 6-speed swap on a V12 and I have just started reading the threads I can find. What flywheel and clutch assembly are most people using for a street car with normally aspirated engine? Thanks,
I have a '91 850i automatic and I do like to track my car and even autocross it when I don't run my formula car. I would probably do the 420G swap and use the PMC adapter plate. These transmissions are pretty common and sell for $800-1200. Supposedly, PMC offers a flywheel but I did not see it on their website.
I did not think the 850 flywheel was still available but I will check shortly. I see where the dual mass flywheel is available from several suppliers. Will it clear the PMC adapter and is there some type of flywheel spacer available to make up for the adapter plate?
Thanks,
JP
