How often do you drive your shark?

This could be a poll, but the options would have been so broad (from "I drive it once six years ago" to "I drive it every day" and all sorts of stuff in between. And then there's "seasonally" and "when it's running, I drive it xxxx". So no poll.

For me, now that I've sorted out the damn weirdness by replacing the ECU and things are running well overall, I drive it every chance I get when the weather is good. I'll probably put it away for the winter once the roads are salted for a snow or it gets really cold (for NC), but at the moment my answer is "It averages out to once or twice a week for three seasons when the weather isn't rainy"

    So...what say ye?

I try to go for a drive every weekend. There are cruise-ins and car shows here every weekend especially in the fall and winter.

Mine just went for it's last ride of the year. She'll be back out in late March or so. Maybe a few trips around the block on nice winter days.

In my 13 years of ownership I've gone from 168K miles to 217K miles, for an average of 3.8K miles per year. In my first years, I probably averaged 5 to 6K per year. Now that I'm retired, I don't drive nearly as much. I recently bought a newer BMW, so I only drive my 6 every week or two. I still love driving it, though. It's a great car.

My E24 has always been a second or third car in the 20+ years I've owned it, but since my 5-speed conversion this summer it's become even more of a garage queen. I put a lot of money into that project (many brand new parts) and love to drive it more than ever, but in order to get it out of the garage I have to shuffle cars around. Still, I try to take it out for good drive at least once every 3-4 weeks.

I bought my E28 5 years ago and is the car I drive much more often. Being a factory manual, it was the inspiration for my E24's manual conversion. The driving experience is a bit different but it's great fun too.

    Love them both.

I need to drive mine more! I put 20k in about 4-5 years and now just a few thousand with my other projects. I guess I put another 7k on my 633 Turbo. The e28 535i gets DD duties and gets driven multiple times a week. It does sit outside, however.

During the spring, summer and early fall, I usually drive it a few times a week. Once the rain and cold hit I drive it if it's nice out. I've driven it from Portland, Or to Monterey, Ca twice. I need to drive it to Pacific Sharkfest one of these years.

Bought mine new, and its always been a weekend car (34K miles). I probably drive it twice a month during the 3 drive-friendly seasons here in NH. I'll be
putting it away in the next week or two, as its never seen bad weather - even rain. That is unless it rains on the way back from a car show. I'm amazed at how often someone stops me at a gas station or in a parking lot and says "Hey, is that the new BMW?" Love all the sharks!

I generally avoid rain, but will still do it if I feel like I need a fix. Now that I've broken the psychological 100K-mile barrier, I'm driving more (and, of course, have gremlins finally sorted - #knocksonwood). After the roads have been salted (can be anywhere from October to February in NC) the hibernation starts until some good rains have washed all that crap away (usually in the Spring).

    Hi Lee,
I hope that now I have another "Shark" that I can enjoy driving her a bit more ...... like our convoy to AL for SESF #10 with "Crystal".
Looking forward to caching up with you at SESF 2019 at the end of April.
