I have a 1995 BMW 740 and when I drive the car the key is REALLY hot when I take it out of the ignition. it takes a while to get hot (20-30 min) but it's almost hot enough to not be able to hold the metal part of the key tightly in my hand.
I'm not concerned about the my hand but I am concerned about the car catching on fire.
Does anyone else have this problem or know the cause?
Try using the other key. My hunch is the key has a charging problem which is causing the heat build up.
