Hello all,
I recently picked up a '04 325iT with the Steptronic. The touring was purchased from New Country Mercedes Benz in Hartford, CT; the dealer deemed it too nice for the auctions, so it underwent presale inspection and maintenance, performed by the BMW dealership owned by the same parent company. My due diligence validated the car, so I pulled the proverbial trigger and drove her back to Austin.
She ran like a 72K car should. Linear, silky straight-six power; solid, smooth shifts; no creaks, rattles, clunks or thuds. Zero drippings on parking surfaces. The outside of the PS reservoir is uncharacteristically gunked up. Not sure what to make of this... it's the only negative, aesthetically or mechanically.
The car returned 28mpg on premium. I must say that the 205/55/16s make for very comfortable long-distance straight-line cruising.
So, why would I pull such a nice, low-mile engine and drivetrain? Because I also picked up a 77K M3 donor car.
I am selling the complete engine, transmission, and diff.
- The engine will include all ancillaries, **except AC compressor**. Asking $1,000 OBO
- The trans will include shifter and associated items, if you want them. Asking $300 OBO
- The diff will come with the subframe, if you want it. Asking $200 OBO
- The driveshaft will come with the CSB, if you want it. Asking $150 OBO
I am open to FaceTime tours of the car, or send a PM to schedule a test drive in person (78748).
Here are a few videos of the car; please let me know if you want videos from other angles, speeds, locations, etc.

Do you still have the trans? Is it a zf5hp19? If so, I'll buy it when I get paid if you can ship it.
I may be able to plan a time to take a few days off work to drive down and get the transmission. Looking into that. Will let you know.
Chris, I'll send you my phone number via PM. Please feel free to text moving forward.
