2001 E39 M54 525i Touring
car has been sitting for over 12 months, inside garage, Michigan
just replaced water pump belts ele vacuum valve and vacuum hoses, boots, disa.
car now cranks but no start
have fuel pressure
any guess if sitting for so long have caused bore wash? ( if that is exactly what it is called; read it in Bentley, just can recall chapter/pg)
I had a crank no start issue with our 99' e39 528i last summer and added 1 tsp oil to each cylinder etc and to my shock that car fired right up
I hate to go through all of that if i missed and easier fix
ps i carefully added coolant and let it bubble up the vent by resivor so i dont think i have any air in coolant sys.
thanks in advance all
We have had a few m54 e46's that had the wash down problem because the dme need to be reprogrammed. You had to push the gas pedal all the way down and keep cranking and eventually the engine would start. Maybe it just needs some more cranking.
Bad gas
