Question S62 into E53 *WITH* All Wheel Drive

I'm trying to figure out how to handle the oil sump on an S62 using E53 oil pan and front differential.

I've been looking at E53 S62 swaps, but they all seem to be converted to RWD only.

I'd hate to assemble the thing with the M62 pump only to find later that it doesn't move enough high pressure oil to operate the S62's dual VANOS.

    Has anyone seen it done?

I'm aware of Adem Ergen's AWD S62 E30 M3 in Jolly Olde England... he used the M62 pump, but I'm not sure his car has turned a tire in anger yet.

Interesting... do you know what parts combo you're expecting to use?
All of the M62 sump components, including the oil pump, should bolt right on, but I don't know if the M62 pump will provide enough VANOS oil.

i planned on using m62 stuff. I’m confident it will be fine. The high pressure comes from the vanos pump, just needs supply to it.
s54’s run off m52 pumps frequently in e30’s without issue.

Either it will work fine or it may end up being that the M62 pump can fill the accumulator and drive the VANOS for normal driving, but falls behind on the track when RPM is changing rapidly, and thus actuators are advancing/retarding continuously, for significant periods of time.

Please let me know how it turns out for you. How soon are you thinking you'll have yours on the road?
