    E36: Ground control RSM install

I’m a bit embarrassed to be asking this question, but.....

Which side does the round end face? Outside towards the tire or inside towards the trunk/wheel well?

    Rear Shock Mount?

The raised portion goes into the trunk.
    You are using reinforcement plates?

    Yes RSM.

If you look at the base (part that goes under the shock tower), one side is round(ish)and the other side is a bit flat/straight.

The shocks are installed from under the car, the shock shaft and circular raised portion of the RSM pass thru the circular opening in the body rear shock tower and can be see within the trunk cavity in/on the rear shock towers.

Here’s a pic (not mine). Left side is more round than right. Trying to figure out which side goes towards the tire (outer).

I don't think it actually matters. FWIW, on my car I installed them with the curved side facing inboard on both sides and have had no issues.
