I have INPA loaded on a Macbook Pro with a Windows drive and used it many times on my M Coupe (Z3). There's a very comprehensive post on the M Coupe forum on how to set it up and run it. I had to buy a new cable 'cause I gave my original one away when I sold the Coupe. I cannot get the laptop to communicate with the E46. Another poster told me I needed to load different drivers for the E46, but I don't know which ones, and how to load them. I cannot find a really comprehensive post in this forum (E46) on how to make INPA work.
Anyone have any ideas on what drivers to use, or are they the same for (Z3) M Coupe and E46 , or ? Thanks, Don
What cable are you using?

+1 to legoman. the version I'm running was finnicky regarding the cable. It has to be in the exact same USB port each time or the software is a no-go. the driver wants to treat the port as an RS-232 serial port. It's prolly just the cable but you may need to re-install the software after hooking up the new cable.

Are the computer (use device manager) and INPA (INPA.cfg) cable com port settings the same? This is he biggest problem with setting up INPA. You have a different cable and it may no be aligned.
Also, pins 7 and 8 need to be shorted to allow INPA to talk to all E46 modules.

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
