So after watching videos, and then disconnecting the vacuum pumps, I am like 99.9% sure its the wastegates rattleing. So now im stuck with should I put upgrqaded turbos, piping, intercooler, tune, etc. or should I just replace the wastegates or turbos and that's it and back together? I want more power, doesn't have to be anything crazyy right now, even tho later on down the line I might go harder, but I want to stay reliable and safe also. I also don't have a ton of money but its not like Im broke (could spend cpl g's whatever that can get me), but another thing is I just bought the car so the car has warranty for up to $1,400 I think, but the dealership picks the shop where to get the work done. Please let me know whatever you guys think, any 2cents is good to hear I would like to hear anyones input please!! Thank you!
Also if anyone has or knows anyone selling turbos or can do that kind of work for cheap and is reliable! anything cheap to help me out here, let me know please! Thank you all!
Is there anything that I can do to make the car drive better and make the power and gas better for the time being until fixed?
Tightening up the WG can help for a while. I did that on my 08 535xi wagon that now has 135k and had only slight rattle when cold. It’s stock except for a JB4.
is there a easy way to get to them and tighten them without having to remove everything like your about to replace the turbos? would love to do that to help with the engine power and gas loss until fixed
Very tight on the AWD cars. You can get to one much more easily than the other.
