1998 323i convertible
Boston Green with black top
162,134 miles
Purchased in October of 2014 with 147,001
Have done to much to list to bring it back to life.
1999 328iS purchased in 2016 with 161k miles on it. Immediately put 2000 miles on it then spent the past three years building a custom rotary valve engine head for it. It is now basically done and I plan on heading to a dyno this week to see how the power curve has changed as well as spend some time tuning it.
Additionally I fixed up all of the interior minus the head liner. The interior wasn't part of the project, just figured it would make it nicer.
1995 M3
Original purchase was 10/24/2009 with 107,000-ish miles. Currently sitting at 115,000 miles on the chassis and 79,000 some odd miles on the swapped S52 motor.
95 325ic. Boaght April 2012 161k. Now 189k.
So many mods it probably technically mightnot be a bmw anymore.
93 318is. Purchased last month with 222k.
Probably wont be a bmw either in about 1 year.
Three weeks ago I purchased a 1999 328is with 211,500 miles, original clutch, and original cooling system. Soon to go into the car is a new water pump (metal), hoses, expansion tank, new radiator. I just did an oil change, Castrol Edge Synthetic 5w30 European ACEA A3/B4, new clutch fan and replaced a thermostat that seems to have been stuck open, aluminum housing. Runs great. Would like to see how long I can go with what's here.
January 2016 I bought a Feb/1997 323i (European, aluminium M52) with 260,000 kilometers (161.500 US miles).
It has folding rear seats, so that's a nice bonus and very handy every once in a while.
It needed quite some work, after having been parked in hot Spanish (Malaga) sun for 1 or 2 years. Had it completely repainted for only 500 euro (Spanish prices, but alas also Spanish quality ;-) ).
Bought a used headliner, a used steering wheel and ebay shift knob (original ones were completely roasted by the sun).
Over the years, I replaced the stock single pipe (320i) exhaust with a 328i exhaust, did a fan delete mod (very happy with it), throttle body coolant hose delete mod using silicone end caps and replaced the tube in the head with an extra temperature sensor to which I will eventually connect an Arduino + LED display in the cabin.
I installed a chip-tuned DME which made a lot of difference (323i is VERY down-tuned from factory), 6 new coils, and lately I installed a set of other injectors and now it finally runs flawlessly (I think the injectors gummed up so badly during the 1-2 years in the Spanish sun, it just can't be cleaned sufficiently). Have recently done a compression test. 11.0 bar on all 6 cylinders, with only +/- 0.15 bar deviation, so engine in perfect condition, and Vanos also. Suspension: almost everything replaced with Meyle HD parts and 4 new Bilstein B4 shocks. Would have loved to install Eibach springs, but the roads here make that impossible.
Currently at 275,000 kilometers (170,875 miles) and will hopefully keep on going many years and kilometers. Thinking about installing a 3.15 diff instead of the too long ratio stock 2.93 one, to make it just a little snappier, especially in the (many, and steep) hills/mountains.

1997 E36 BMW 323i (European) 275k km (171k miles), with following small mods:

September 2017 bought a ‘97 328 convertible (manual) with 118k kms(about 73k miles)
being in Canada it’s parked during winters (pretty sure it’s never seen winter)
parked in October at 132400 kms(82k miles)
Only real changes have been putting the CD deck into the trunk, and putting some later wheels (and new rear tires) on
this spring/summer looking at cooling systems upgrade given everything I’ve been reading here, since I think current parts are original
has been lots of fun getting the feel of this car
1998 328i bought in Jan 2015 with 116k miles. Now has 156k. Very few mods: front strut bar, aftermarket head unit, Bavsound speaker upgrade and Bosch headlights.
I have a spreadsheet to keep track of all costs. The cumulative cost for everything has been just shy of $15k.
