    seat slider

Any particular seat slider to use or stay away from? I'll be custom fabbing the mounting hardware.
I currently have a bottom mount sport seat, but will likely install a side mount fixed seat over the winter, and would still like to use a slider (unless I figure out another easy way to adjust seat without a slider, and without tools. )

Options I see are Sparco slider for $80, Racetech for $110, OMP for $70, VAC for $110, and MotionMotorsports for $90.

No personal experience with these, but Recaro makes a slider that is FIA rated. It is not cheap.

Thanks, that's actually good intel. I *may* be endurance racing next year, and we'll need one of these for that car. Didn't know they existed!

These are not FIA rated but they feel way more solid then my genuine Recaro sliders:

Let me ask you this, why do you feel you need a slider in a racecar? More than likely you will be the only person driving it and if not you will be the only person driving it 95+% of the time. I feel like seating position is somewhat of a set it and forget it type of thing. I'm not a fan of sliders because I have seen a ton of in car video where seats are moving multiple inches side to side in hard cornering. I haven't seen any fail, however, that much seat movement during key driving points seems less desirable than being able to move the seat back for someone else to take a few laps in your car once in a blue moon.

Thanks for the PCI Racing link, just ordered from them.

My seat is currently fixed in position for me but I'd like to make it easy for co-driver to adjust during autox events. I'd be disappointed if it allowed inches of movement side-to-side, definitely unacceptable.

Having pretty good luck with the Recaro sliders in my wife's car. I set them so when she drives it they are right in the middle of their travel, seems to make a large difference in general "stiffness". When I have it moved back to where I can drive it it moves a bit. Would prefer solid mount but I have to be able to drive the car, can't even get in it as close as she sits when belted in.
