    e30 to loose

    Hello all,
I am running a 1990 e30 325 with Eibach Pro Kit 102lb front with camber plates 277lb rear, Bilstien Sport all around. All bushings are urethane. Falken Azenis 195/60/14. (switching to Hoosier R compound for next season) 22MM front sway and no rear bar. Car is completely gutted, no ac, no radio, no interior, lightened hood, front bumper as well as trunk lid. Hasn't been corner weighted yet and it is way loose mid and corner exit in autoX. I have been adding basalt to the read and it has been helping some, but i would rather not keep adding more weight. Should I lower the rear spring rates. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Kelly

What are your alignment specs, and tire pressures?

Not 100% sure of the alignment i do it myself. I try to get 1/16 toe out in the front with -2 camber. the rear is what it is. Air pressures vary, depends on the course and the temp, ill usually start around 38 front and 30 rear. I have gone up to 42 front and as low as 28 in the rear.

Do you have enough experience as a driver to know its the car and not the driver overdriving the car? If so, then I would start with the basics...find out the alignment of all 4 wheels. Then, how about subframe bushings? Does it oversteer or understeer? Make corrections to pressure or sway bars, and see the effect. Getting a car set-up takes time, and some trial and error.

I have been autoXing for 18+yrs and at the last event I had an instructor take the car out also. Its loose. All of the bushing have been replaced including sub-frame. Would a softer rear spring tighten the car up?

    What do you mean "loose"?

Front end push or Tale Happy? What shocks are you running?

If it is tale happy try disconnecting the rear sway bar and see what happens.

A good handling car should only need a 3 to 4 pound tire air pressure difference front to rear.

In our built e21 auto-x / track car we round 550 pound springs in the front and 325 in the back and the rears our coil overs. We have never been able to get the car to work with a rear bar, just too tale happy. Thinking able playing with much lighter springs in the front this year and see if we can get the rear bar to be useful.
