Loose push switch in engine bay

Have just bought an 08 730d to replace e60 and am loving it so far. Have just come across this loose button / switch in the engine bay and was wondering what it's for and whether I should bolt it down. Seems a bit out of place there

It's the hood contact switch. It goes in the back towards the microfilter on the driver side
