Shopping for 335i XDrive or RWD ?

I've been shopping for a 335i after the loss of my E39 M5.
Wondering if I should go for a Xdrive car for the 'Evo/Subi' AWD fun or stick with what I know [RWD] .

Anyone driven both and have any opinions from an enthusiast perspective ? I will be splitting time between toddler taxi and DE events. Wondering how the Xdrive acts on a track with proper suspension upgrades.

    Thanks in advance.

    .
I wouldn't get an X-drive vehicle unless I needed it for winter road conditions (snow, ice, etc).

+1 on sticking with RWD. If you're ever wanting to upgrade the suspension, there are a lot more options for the RWD version too.

My Xdrive 15 335xi drives and handles very well as compared to my 07 328xi which was a nose heavy pusher.( xis are all that's available in UpstateNY)

Did drive an 06 330i RWD and loved it FWIW

Since you live in DC, AWD is pointless unless you like the handling advantages in the dry.

I'd "work out" both and see what you prefer for a fun drive. I'd bet its the RWD

I have a old jeep for bad weather .
Only AWD car i owned was a 91 Talon TSI and i bates it. Felt ljke a truck with its awd lockup however from what I’ve read BMW xDrive is very advanced . I’ll just have to try them both

I went RwD and auto . All the 6 speed cars i found were very raged on looking .
Hope i found a solid car, a little soft in the bushings but seems taken care of .

    Nice.
I had an 08 335xi, stock. Launching in mediocre weather was awesome.
We do get a lot of snow here in Ontario, so can be worth it.
All the same, I now drive an 08 335i Convertible. Still handles decently in the snow (with quality snow tires).
However, it's a bit too low for real snow. I now park it for the worst of winter.
    She's modded and uber fun.

** Speaking of modded, that's likely the number 1 thing you want to check for when buying a used 335... was it modded and trashed on. Turbos are pricey, maintenance can be high.

Car is a one owner originally sold locally. Only mod I’ve found so far is a euro light switch ( for the rear fog).
Just added a boost gauge over the weekend ( added pics to the daily pic thread ) . Gonna change the fluids and filters soon and drive til spring before any mods . Seems solid so far . I intend to do the majority of my work #NotScared

I have a 08 335xi I picked up when I lived in Anchorage and it was great as long as the snow wasn't piled too high. I live in WA now and I appreciate the extra traction during rain and snow.
