History: I purchased the X5 in April of 2017 to use as my daily driver. It had around 115,000 miles but ran and drove great. It did leak and burn oil as most V8's with this amount of miles did. In September of 2017 the break booster went out. I had it replaced by Century BMW in Huntsville, AL. In January of 2018 it started leaking oil from the valve covers pretty severely so I quit driving it for a couple of months to decide what exactly we wanted to do repair wise since we knew it would be quiet costly. We decided in March to we decided to take it back to Century BMW for repairs. We ended up having them replace head gaskets, upper timing cover gaskets and valve seals. They installed new valve covers. They also replaced several coolant hoses and preformed a rear brake job. I have all of the paperwork from repairs at the dealership. I purchased it from a dealership but happened to run into the former owner who actually traded it in. He said (which I don't have proof) that the transmission had also just been rebuilt and the coil packs replaced at around 108,000 miles.
The airbag light is on. The recall on the passenger seat has been performed and it didn't go away. I haven't investigated further. It's been on since before I purchased it.
The traction warning light is also on. I believe that it is because the front break pads were replaced with the cheap pads without the sensors. It is close to needing a front brake job so I was waiting for that before looking further into it.
In the 2 years that I've owned it I've honestly put way more in it that what it is worth at this point, but it is a fun but also practical vehicle to daily drive. I love it I'm just ready for a something new to play with. Price is negotiable.
