2006 750Li, Park brake warning is on. has a trouble code something to the effect of "park brake motor short to ground." problem is I cannot find decent wiring diagrams for this car. I have downloaded 3 different service manuals, all have basically the same diagram of the brake electrical system. Anyone know where a can order a good comprehensive manual. I have no problem paying for a manual if it is a good one but so far all three have been crap.
Remove the parking brake unit as a whole. Throw it in the trash and replace it. Problem solved! Sorry if that's now quite the answer you're looking for, but they are junk.

Agreed, but kinda necessary to pass inspection here.
You can also just replace the plastic gear with the metal gear that is available all over the internet. The metal gear will cost you about $25, whereas a new unit (also with the crappy plastic gear that will also fail) is in the neighborhood of $400+. Once you have completed the repair, you will need to reset the Mechanical Parking Brake via INPA to get the unit initialized and to get rid of the warning light.

It's been so long, are those gears still available?

hello
i just purchased mine on amazon for only 25 bucks in ca,usa
treaky but easy installation
the only probem i have is:
how can i initilize the module again?
cause for some weird reason the emergency brake works only on D position on my car
if a shift it back to P it will not work.
You need to have it reset through INPA. Disconnecting the battery will NOT reset it. I actually had to do this process twice, but it is not that difficult.
