    E60 M5 3rd Party Warranty?

Hello All, Im brand new to the BMW family and would love some guidance here...

I am in the process of purchasing a 2006 BMW M5 with about 57K miles on it. I was curious to hear from some current or past owners about what 3rd party warranty companies they used and what experiences they had, good or bad. Obviously i would like to have a warranty that covers all the major issues but im just not sure how to go about securing the proper warranty and what questions to ask. A quick google search turned a company called "Delta Auto Protect" and for about $3k i can get 3yrs/45k miles of protection ($100 deductible). This is the "DIAMOND PREMIER" coverage as shown in the link below. Im hoping someone who understands this better can give me some pointers. Thanks !

    Hello
I just recently got the same warranty. I have an 08 M5 E60 with 64k. The warranty is coming in at 2800 and zero deductible. They were super pushy and stressed how great the warranty is. It’s bumper to bumper except your typical wear and tear items. Just an FYI for you and anyone that does not know. The max pay out will be up to the purchase price of your vehicle. So if you got a super deal and got the car way under market then that is the max you are covered too. With what I am hearing on these cars repairs can add up as fast as these things drive. I’m 3 weeks into having my new baby. I suggest finding a reputable place to over look the car and make sure you take care of it. The warranty is peace of mind. But I do hear people say they try there best to not pay.

Great info. Thanks for the reply. What document do they use to verify the purchase price of the car?

I got mine from a dealer so it was the bill of sale. I would assume under a private sale it would be either what’s documented with DMV or a common value. Basically what the average sale is.

Just spoke to the sales rep at delta again and he assured me that “each” repair can’t exceed the purchased price. Still not sold on this. Thanks for the input. Going to address a couple small things like my diversity antenna and passenger occupancy sensor then continue my research. Thanks again !
