Hello Everyone, my E85 Z4 has few paint scratches here and there that I would like to eventually spot repair. So I decided to start with the sun damaged triangular trim plastic parts at the base of side view mirrors (always wanted them to color match my mirrors). The main challenge was to perfectly replicate the factory paint color code and clear coat quality.
I have the Jet black paint and with a simple google search I came across a readily available spray paint that sells almost everywhere (advanced auto parts, O’Reilly.. etc.): Duplicolor Perfectmatch BUN 0100 (8 oz can for $10). Before starting my project I couldn’t find images to show if duplicolor was indeed a reliable color match for BMW Jet black 668 as the company doesn’t advertise it for BMW vehicles. In my project the duplicolor basecoat was coated with Spraymax 2k high gloss urethane clear coat.
Here are few images that may aid others with similar color in the decision making process. Have a nice weekend!

A little late to the party, but thanks for the photos. How has it been looking so far?
I love you
