charging by external charger, is it safe?

Could I charge the battery via the
"so-caIIed jump-starting terminal for jump starting" * under the hood?
This car will not drive every day and now this gel battery has only 12.12 Volts what means 40% charged.

    * there is a description in the user manual about emergency firing from an external power source, but there is NOTHING about slow recharging.

    Connecting jumper cabIes
To avoid personal injury from sparks, foI-
    low this sequence when connecting
    jumper cabIes.
ln your BMW, the so-caIIed jump-starting termi-
naI for jump starting in the engine compartment
sees as a positive termini for the battery, aIso
refer to engine compartment overview on
    page 2 1 7. The cover cap is marked with a +.
1 Fold open the cover of the BMW jump
starting terminaI. To do so, puII the tab.
    2. Attach one end of the jumper cabIe pIusI+
to the positive terminaI of the battery or a
jump-starting terminaI of the vehicle provid-
    ing assistance.
    3. Attach the second end of the cable to the
positive terminal of the battery or to a jump-
starting terminal of the vehicIe to be staed.
    4. Attach one end of the jumper cabIe minus/-
to the negative terminaI of the battey or to
an engine or body ground of the vehicIe
    providing assistance.
Your BMW has a special nut as body ground
    or negative terminal.

Yes, charging from the 'jump start' posts is the recommended way to connect - you can't connect to the battery terminals as this by-passes the IBS. But, if you want to do it properly try this:

Get a battery tender, hooked it up shut the hood lock the car, avoid jump starting your car regularly. You can leave the battery tender hooked up for ever
