Could I charge the battery via the
"so-caIIed jump-starting terminal for jump starting" * under the hood?
This car will not drive every day and now this gel battery has only 12.12 Volts what means 40% charged.
* there is a description in the user manual about emergency firing from an external power source, but there is NOTHING about slow recharging.

naI for jump starting in the engine compartment
sees as a positive termini for the battery, aIso
refer to engine compartment overview on
page 2 1 7. The cover cap is marked with a +.
1 Fold open the cover of the BMW jump
starting terminaI. To do so, puII the tab.
2. Attach one end of the jumper cabIe pIusI+
to the positive terminaI of the battery or a
jump-starting terminaI of the vehicle provid-
ing assistance.
3. Attach the second end of the cable to the
positive terminal of the battery or to a jump-
starting terminal of the vehicIe to be staed.
4. Attach one end of the jumper cabIe minus/-
to the negative terminaI of the battey or to
an engine or body ground of the vehicIe
providing assistance.
Your BMW has a special nut as body ground
or negative terminal.
Yes, charging from the 'jump start' posts is the recommended way to connect - you can't connect to the battery terminals as this by-passes the IBS. But, if you want to do it properly try this:
