The time has come to find a new home for CSi #126. I bought the car earlier this year - a one-owner car from Louisiana. My goal was to rehab the car and then keep it - but that's always my goal. Having not ever owned a car more than a couple years, I suppose I should have seen this coming.
I've written up a document about how I acquired the car, what I've done to it since I've owned it and what it needs - which I'll link to below. But here are the quick facts on the car:
* '94 850 CSi, #126, Arctic Silver over Black - one previous owner
* Bought, serviced and ultimately traded in to the same dealer
* 136k miles
* Service records from the dealer date back to the early 2000s and include about $40k in maintenance done since 2010
* I've put a good deal of money and time into it since I've owned it, which is all listed in the linked doc
The asking price is $55k/obo. I really want the car to go to an E31 enthusiast - which is why I'm posting here first. My next step will be the BMWCCA Classifieds and BaT as a last resort.
Full writeup available here
Full list of photos, 71 pages of service records and recent receipts here
Full disclaimer - I've talked to an enthusiast and forum member about selling - and given him a time-limited window to see and buy the car before accepting another offer. I'm posting this here to determine the interest-level and starting mid-next week, will be willing to negotiate the sale on the open market. Reply here or PM with any questions you might have.

GLWS Dave! I know you put in a lot of time, money and effort on that car. How many miles are currently shown again?
She’s a beauty Dave.....best of luck with the sale.
Thank you both. It now has just a shade over 136k miles. It had 135,700 when I bought it. I took her to one BMW Cars & Coffee event in Kansas City (90 miles roundtrip) and to one of my baseball games (90 miles roundtrip). The rest have been around the town.

The car looks outstanding and I am impressed with the work you put into it. Shame to flip it. But... (let's just say if I'd won that big ticket lotto last week...we'd be talkin' ).
Good luck with the sale!
Good luck Dave! I've got my M3 back up on eBay again (and BMWCCA classifieds), but traffic has been slow and I'm wondering if I'm always trying to sell cars at the wrong time of year. I won't post mine locally on Craigslist... at my pricepoint and car type, I'll get nothing but yahoos wanting a clutch smoking test drive. However, at your $50K+ price point (very reasonable for the car), you should be able to blanket many outlets (cars.com, auto-trader, hemmings, Craigslist, eBay, etc.) without any worry for tire kickers. I do agree that BaT would be a last resort in my book too. Plus, they've been getting pretty picky about what they'll let you place as a reserve; although I can't see them denying a recently refurbished 850 CSi for $55K, after looking at their recent CSi sales. Admittedly though, I think BaT is probably the prime market space right now for a CSi, if you're willing to deal with the peanut gallery and their demands in a real-time open forum called the 'comments section'.
Hey Joe - I saw your M3 go up on BMWCCA. When the CSi sells, you may get a call There is an Alpine White M3/4/5 here locally I may look at as well - great price.
As you know, I’m ALWAYS looking.

It was meant to come to SoCal no matter what... Initially I was the "prospective buyer" of the car from Dave but my timing didn't work out, so as the Southern California Gods played their hands in this equation, they made sure it came here anyway. LOL

I don't believe the new owner is on the forum (yet) but I do know he's a BMW enthusiast. Another enthusiast (who owns a 6-speed 850) was helping the new owner locate a CSi and ultimately found it on here.
