Parting out the old 2.0, engine swap going in so anything in the drivetrain is fair game. The transmission is spoken for, and the head gasket blew, but everything internal should still be good because it hasn't been down that long. The head itself I wouldn't trust because it's a thermal reactor equipped car with ~230k miles.
Minor upgrades and recent maintenance to the car include VW braided stainless lines and cleaned injectors. I have so many surrounding parts in the garage there's no harm in asking me if I have something else too, early or late model.
Prices are negotiable and I'll start updating price lists, pictures, and extras I have lying around. This includes stuff like a bunch of sport parts, trim pieces, and the like. In the meantime feel free to PM me with an address for shipping and an offer. Car is located in Sacramento CA. No international shipping, that's been really rough in the past. If you really really want to do that I don't have the time to arrange it, but I'm happy to slap a pre-paid label on something. Subframes and wheels will go last because I need it to be a roller as long as possible. Also open to trades, but my priority is on selling to fund the rest of the build right now.
Parts Listing & Prices (Shipping on buyer, happy to arrange small items or pickup)
Prefacelift smog - $100, pickup preferable. Just passed smog last October. One of the EGR stainless lines is rough along the backside of the block, but actually a thing you could fabricate. Happy to point it out if it’s a concern.
Strut assemblies with hubs, large bearing, recently replaced. Strut inserts/Springs/Hats not included - $150
E21 320is Late Model Lower Valence / Cowcatcher - $50 on pickup, no shipping, needs work and new studs. Comes with a free late model valence that is in rough, but reparable, shape. I might end up fixing it up and using it myself if there's zero interest.
Differential (3.64 Open) – Available, price pending testing, new fluid as of ~10k miles ago
Driveshaft – Core, free to pickup, new CSB and guibo. Bad U-joints
2.0 short block - $200, whole gosh darn block, pistons and all. I’ll give her a good drain and once over on an engine stand. Seals are awful, but I’ve been running synthetic for a while. Neat upgrade for someone looking to increase displacement. Oil pump takes about five seconds to go out on startup, so I’d consider that up for rebuild/replacement. Wouldn't be remiss to replace the bearings while you're in there and reseal.
Intake Runners - $30
Throttle body – Larger diameter, possibly spoken for? $50
320i stock aluminum Rims with newer tires, good tread - $100
Fuel Distributor - $50
Harness - $50, only thing not included is all the separate alternator lines/engine ground wire/Positive cable.
Misc – Just ask. Plenty here I didn’t cover. Spare parts galore.
Cheers
John

Is the metal pipe that runs along the block for the heater line in decent shape?
It was the last time I looked at it! Might be a hot minute before I can get to that part, but PM me with some details like address and name so I can keep a list.

I could use the 3.64 open diff, let me know what you want for it!
What transmission was in the car? 4 speed? Long 5 speed? Or short 5 speed? Depending on the answer I'm interested in the driveshaft? Have an automatic that needs to be swapped and already have the G245 (long 5 speed)
'81 E21 320i / '90 E30 325i / '̶9̶2̶ ̶E̶3̶4̶ ̶5̶2̶5̶i̶t (sold) / '15 Toyota XW30 / '̶̶8̶0̶ ̶E̶2̶1̶ ̶3̶2̶0̶i̶A̶ (sold)
if it's a unmolested 79 then it would have a G242 4speed. a "long 5 speed" is a G245 which is really a G242 with a overdrive section addd to the rear and was standard equipment for the 1980-82 model years. the "short 5 speed" is a G240 and is an entirely new design which came only in the 1983 E21.
you probably know this but there are many new members that might not.

It's a 240 swap from the 242, however I have a spare 245 driveshaft. PM away! Not sure how the u-joints are, but I'll check later. If you can pick it up being so local I'd be happy to cut you a deal for saving me time shipping it.
