Hey guys,
Glad to see these forums are still active! I picked up my '98 M3 recently and needed to change the shift bushings. I used the kit from Garagistic which uses delrin bushings. I get awful gear noise which is intensifies with load, at around 3k RPM. Present in every gear. I suspect it's noise being transmitted (NVH) from the upgraded bushings. My question is, which bushing do you suspect? I'd like to change back to stock bushings as this noise sucks. Who's had this same issue?

Thanks!
That is all you changed? You did not change transmission mounts or over tighten trans mounts?
As pbonsalb suggested, the most common culprit for gearbox noise is super firm transmission mounts. Since you didn't change those I'd suspect the poly bushing in the metal housing that clips to the transmission tunnel. That's most likely to transmit gearbox noise to the body since it's attached to the sheet metal. I bet if you flip that bushing back to OEM rubber the noise will go away.
Have a similar problem with the Turner shifter carrier poly rear bushing. Too stiff.
