I am having a heck of a time finding a decent performance tire in the 225/60r15 category, and even going down to a 50 series tires, it does not expand options much
Even at the dealer I work at, options are limited for sourcing tires from the supplier.
With the limited options out there what is everyones experience with some of them?
There is a set of super old Pirrelle's on my car now which I am pretty sure they no longer manufacturer.
Bridgestone Potenza RE950 or Yokohama S are my g-to tires for performance. Neither is really good in snow though.

I'm not super concerned with snow as I won't drive in it since I can work from home.
Unfortunately neither of those tires come in a 225/50 or 60 series for a r15 but I never thought of reducing width to find something
The options really open up going to a 205/50r15, I am not familiar with popular 15inch sizes so maybe I will just go down to that

Here a link to the U.K. tires net where a lot are shown in 225/60/15 https://www.tyres.net/all-tyres/225-60-15/200+201+202
for example Continental has various in that size, check what is available in the US
at the moment I have on the 750 Minerva Emizero HP 225/60 R15 96V summer tires as shown here on a German site, relatively cheap, paid here in Japan about $50/tire incl. shipping from a jap. online shop, quiet

I have the same problem; here's a link to a related thread on the E34 sub-forum:

Tire Rack no longer sells the Michelins Pirelli or Yokes but they still have a few in that size.

I bought Fuzion 225/60r15 all-seasons for my 735i and at first I thought they were great - quiet ride, good traction. But I recently had them road-force balanced.. and the shop told me all four tires have manufacturing defects/imperfections that made it difficult/impossible to perfectly balance them. I believe they were being genuine when they told me they don't sell Fuzions at their BMW-specialist shop because they've seen this type of issue before. As a result I still notice a little vibration at certain speeds (but I'm talking hardly noticeable vibrations & steering wheel feedback that is amplified by all the new suspension components I recently installed). Make of that what you will, but Fuzions are definitely available in the US and they're fairly cheap.

^ Get a refund/exchange. If they will put that in writing, defects are usually covered for some time/wear. I would not accept defective tires.

Agreed. I tried contacting Fuzion using an official email address from their website... and it was returned as not deliverable.
So now I sent an email to Bridgestone, their parent company. Awaiting a response... then if not, I'll be calling them on Tuesday.
The tires have less than 20k on them, so I'll do my best to get a refund/exchange. At least they're wearing evenly and there's like 80% tread life left - so they can't really argue I did anything wrong.
Update to this in case anyone runs into the same issue I have
I ended up getting 205/50r15s not ideal but I got a steal on a set of Kuhmo Ecsta PA31
The car does sit significantly lower, you feel alot more road imperfections, and the speedo is off quite a bit now. But handling did improve by a notieable amount.
Wet and ice performance is better than I would have thought.
