What car is this exactly

Hey guys. This is my first post on the forum. I have a couple of drag cars but I may be picking up this 2002 BMW from a car dealer who owes me money for a couple of loads I hauled for his company. I have never owned a BMW buy I'm a car guy and I like performance. Long story short he has 2 cars that I can pice up but I would rather have the bimmer. Every year model has different packages and engines and I do not know the difference. This one is a 2002 540i. There is no markings or decals on the outside except for the 540i. The steering wheel has an M on it as well as the shifter ( it's a 6 speed). The displacement is 268cu. So my question is what is it.

Sorry I tried to edit the post but that was a no go. It also has a 6 speed manual transmission instead of that specification saying 5 speed. Only reason I'm wondering is because I have seen some of them 5 series with a super charger and on with a turbo but the chargers was running better but if it has some little motor it's not worth it.

Thanks shogun. If the car is worth it, it will take about 5 months to get it finished. I like to have a clean street beast lol
