How many years do Run Flat tires last for? HELP

Hey guys, I need new front tires and found some on CL for the low and only have about 1000 miles but have been in storage since 2014.... you think they can still last another 2 years?

I wouldn't trust them, but its your life you're putting at risk.

But if you are going to use them check that the date code on them is newer than 2012. Also check them VERY carefully for side wall and tread cracks.

The only way I personally would use them is if they were stored in an environmentally controls atmosphere specifically for storing tires.

I agree with the above posters.
It's not so much a matter of RFT vs standard, it's largely about the rubber and how it was stored.
In general, it's recommended to change tires every 6 years. If stored well, a couple extra.

If they're not outdated (no more than 8 years old) and haven't been stored in sunlight, I don't see a problem IF they are free of cracks or weather checking. Be aware that tire rubber gets harder as tires age, so traction may be slightly affected.

5 years is good maybe 6 if they have been on my car and garaged.

Oh wait, I go thru tires so quickly they don't last more than 2 years anyway. So what I try to find is the place that has NEW tires that have a date code on them from 2-3 years ago and get them to lower the price. Most of the time i get 50%-60% off the new tire price.

I do not like run flat tires when they get worn...and for that matter, at all...

I have made the switch to regular tires and am much happier for it....Continental ContiPro Contacts or ContiSport Contacts...decent tire for the money...

old CL tires are a crapshoot....

If the runflats are Bridgestone drive guards they last 40-50k
