2010 328Xi Wagon Spare Tire Custom floor Panel

I bought a spare tire from Bav. auto and threw it in the trunk. Since there is no space for it its always in the way when using the trunk. Before I custom make something I wanted to see if anyone else has already done this? It would be in the shape of the floor with legs that hold it up 1/4" taller than the spare tire. This way I would have a removable panel that I can use as the new trunk floor.

Is there no spare on the wagon models?

Spares are obsoleted with RFTs (Run Flats). No longer a 'requirement'.
That said, if I had the option, I'd keep a spare and screw RFTs. (I only use RFTs until they burn through, then replace w/ standard for the better ride/handling)

    Interesting
Yeah, I have no interest in RFTs

Have you looked under the rear floor cover? There is no room for a spare, and no cavity to hold it. There is no reason to make a cover because the tire will essentially be sitting above the floor anyway. I believe that Pelican parts makes a cover with anchors to tie it down. I have an 08 wagon and I carry a plug kit and a 12V air pump, so i figure I'm set unless something totally tears up a tire. Those items fit in the small cargo cavity under the rear floor cover.
