Hi everyone I have a Australian delivered bmw 325i e90 and I'm trying to install a fusion base tube and I have no idea what and where the wires are to hook it up there is a CD stacker in the left rear boot and there is a silver box above it I thought it was the amp but now have no idea.... I can't find anything any where about it.... Can some one please help me!!!!
I googled the sub and I believe it has its own amp. However, I couldn’t tell if the amp uses speaker level inputs. So, please provide the exact model.
Assuming the amp can accept speaker level inputs, here’s what you’ll need:
- a source of always on 12VDC via a wire of the recommended gauge
- a fuse in a fuse holder for the power wire
- a ground wire of the same gauge as the power wire
- a small gauge wire that carries the 12VDC “turn on” wire*
- speaker level inputs from the car’s wiring harness+
* If the car has a separate amp, the amp will have a “turn on” wire that’s has 12VDC when the ignition switch is not in the off position.
+ You need to determine if the sub can accept speaker level inputs that gave the full audio range OR if it can accept only speaker level inputs of a specific low frequency range.
Sorry, but it sounds like you're in over your head. If you "have no idea what and where the wires are to hook it up", then you need to take it to a professional. These cars don't come with plug and play connectors for adding subwoofers. It takes knowledge of 12 volt systems, as well as proper wiring diagrams to hook them up properly and safely.
