It's still doing its job but I know that changing the starter is going to be an inevitability. Other than the starter, are there any certain limited access items that should be replaced while I'm in there?
I believe ground straps should be inspected and cleaned during this work.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
I presume you will be taking off the manifold, so I would check/replace the vacuum lines. If you want you can clean electrical connectors with deoxit 5%.

Do you have a 5spd or auto?

Clean and grease the starter alignment pin before you reassemble it.
New intake gaskets. Inspect throttle cable. Check for oil leaks while you have the intake off. Check the coolant lines under the manifold.

All great suggestions, Thanks, guys.
Coolant lines below the manifold were already mentioned, but perhaps also check the coolant hose that runs from the back of the head (between head and firewall) to the heater valves. If it's old and/or has cracks, best to replace.
Also, if you know the original fuel pressure regulator is still in there, best to replace with a new Bosch one (can be had for $20). They don't die that often, but if they do you're probably in trouble. But then, if you remove the fuel rail to replace the FPR, best to also replace the injector rubbers, or even give the injectors a proper ultrasonic cleaning.. But, if I go on, you end up replacing every part in the car ;-) .
