I was loving my car again, picked up the kiddies, then it ran like a bag of shit. Really ruff, like misfiring, but the plugs and coils are new in the summer. Took out the trusty code reader and it said fuel pump control. Is it a quick easy replacement or does it require programing, and for me to hang up my noose I was saving for Christmas.
If indeed the problem is the fuel pump control module, it lives behind the rear seatback, If you replace it, it will need to be programmed / coded with ISTA.
I'd have to recommend that you have the car diagnosed with ISTA, to make sure that your code is an accurate representation of what you need to do to fix this. I'd personally want to run an ISTA test plan, and see the screen tell me "replace fuel pump control unit".
