I have a 98 Z3 and a 97 parts car that is say 95 % useable. (Both z’s Share all the same parts in any search I’ve ever done on real oem.)
So I’m looking for my next car for spring and fall use that is a 4 seater. Thinking of an E36 model that would share the same mechanical parts list.
Is that any E36 model? How about years of mfg?
How about a classic 325i? 2 door or 4?

Yeah I’ve looked at those. Like the styling a lot, especially the 2dr.
Automatic, but close to you (I think):

Also, don't forget the 328is. I can't find either around here.

My wife has a 1994 325i and we love it. Considered buying a newer car a few times, but can't justify it because this one is so good. It's simple, easy to work on, very nice on the highway, and ultra reliable.
I have a 97 328iC and love it. Fun to drive and with the hardtop for cold or extreme heat.
Suspension wise the front of the Z3 is E36, while the rear is E30. The engines and transmissions are from the E36 platform.
More than suspension. Much of the cooling parts are the same. The radiator once failed in my car, but I had a new radiator I had ordered for my wife's car. No big deal, but I didn't have to wait a day for a radiator. Plus, the cars are so similar that knowledge of one is useful for the other.
