Square fitment: 18x9 ET24 with 265/35/18: will it fit?

I have a moderately lowered 540iT (-20mm front, -15mm rear) and looking to upgrade from my stock setup (edit: which is 17x8 ET20 235/45 and 17x9 ET26 255/40).

Not sure if I can get away with running 265/35/18 square or if I should play it safe with 255s instead. I don't mind running a small spacer upfront if necessary to clear the strut but I really don't want to rub anywhere.

    TIA

I’m having same dilemma right now as I’m looking to purchase new tires so I’m curious to hear the thoughts on this...

    Current setup:

18x9 Style 42 square setup with 245/40 tires all around. Front is lowered with H&R sport springs on Koni Yellows....I also have 15mm spacers. There are no issues with rubbing.

17x8 to a 18x9 is one inch difference= .5 inch closer to the strut and .5 inch closer to the fender..

.then the -20ET vs the-24et ...the 24et is placing the wheel closer to the strut by at least 4MM. 17mm total towards the strut (per tire calculator found online)

then you have the sidewall clearance.

if you increase the width of the rim will, you will have to decrease the ET numerically lower. Most ETs above 20mm will need spacers

Thanks, I understand how offsets work, I was mainly looking for real world experience Search results were inconclusive, lots of contradicting info.

Anyways, I just realized my stock wheels are staggered (all this time I thought I had 17x8 square ) so I went and bolted a rear wheel (17x9 +26 255/40) up front. It sat tight against the strut but well within the fender.

At this point I think the 18x9 +24 will fit nicely with a 10mm spacer. Still unsure about the tire size though. 255/35/18 would definitely work since the width and diameter is identical to the 255/40/17 but the sidewall would be 12.5% thinner and I don't really like skinny rubberband sidewalls. A 265/35/18 would have a fatter more stock-like sidewall but will it fit? Back to my original question I guess!

Not bad at all. Looks less stretched than I expected.

I took some measurements and decided to order some 265/35. I'll report back when I get them mounted.

YES it'll fit, mine is 18x10.5 275/35 square +25 rear and +17 front to clear the strut.

Ended up going with 3mm spacers all around. Wheels and tires are 18x9 style 37s and 265/35 contis. Fronts spacers were required to clear the struts. Looks great and fits great IMHO!

I've got 18x9 front and 18x11 rear with 265/35/18 all around on konis and h&r sports. No rubbing, no spacers
